Does the Equinox 1.5L turbo consume oil the way older models did?

Equinox models from 2018 to 2020 with the 1.5L turbo LFV engine were subject to a recall and a customer satisfaction program for excessive oil consumption — sometimes 1 litre every 4,000 km.
