Does the 2025 GMC Terrain receive a full new-generation redesign and what are the key innovations?
The 2025 GMC Terrain inaugurates an all-new generation, switching to the VSS-F platform and growing in size: length increases to 4,610 mm (from 4,520 mm) and wheelbase extends to 2,726 mm. This redesign translates to a more spacious cabin and a cargo volume increase to 798 litres (from 708 litres on the outgoing model). The exterior design adopts GMC's Precision styling language from the Yukon and Sierra, with a distinctive illuminated GMC logo as a recognizable front-face signature. The primary powertrain is a new 1.5L turbocharged four-cylinder producing 175 hp (replacing the 1.5T 170 hp), paired with an improved CVT or a 9-speed automatic on SLT and AT4 trims. Canadian pricing starts at approximately $36,500 CAD for the SLE front-wheel drive, with the AT4 AWD reaching around $49,000 CAD. All-wheel drive is available as an option from SLE or standard from SLT/AT4. A Terrain Denali joins the 2025 lineup, adding magnetorheological shock absorbers, 19-inch gloss black wheels, and a multi-panel panoramic sunroof.
