For 2022, Toyota updated the Camry's front and rear fascias — crisper grille, revised LED signature lights — and added Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ as standard across all trims, bringing intersection support and expanded lane-departure functions. The AWD system introduced in 2021 remained available on four-cylinder variants; it uses a rear-mounted electric motor and lacks the mechanical engagement of a traditional Haldex or open differential. In Canadian winter conditions it functions well for light slip correction but should not be treated as equivalent to a full-time mechanical AWD. The V6 lost its XSE availability in some markets for 2022, which reduced buyer choice at the upper end.
