The 2025 Prius Prime continues the fifth generation with updated standard features on the base XSE trim, including a larger 12.3-inch touchscreen that was previously restricted to XSE Technology. Toyota also adds a new Midnight Black Edition appearance package with blacked-out exterior trim. The AWD-e hybrid system producing 220 hp and the 72 km EV range are mechanically unchanged. Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 with proactive driving assistance is standard. The heat pump standard equipment is confirmed for 2025 Canadian-spec vehicles, an improvement over 2023 builds where heat pump availability varied by trim. The Prius Prime remains one of the highest EV-range PHEVs in its segment at its price point, and the AWD-e system provides year-round traction reassurance in Canadian conditions without the range penalty of a full BEV in winter. Federal iZEV PHEV-tier eligibility is maintained.
