Is the Buick Envision 2.0T reliable for long-term use on Canadian roads?
The 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder in the Envision is shared with Cadillac and Chevrolet applications and has an acceptable reliability record. First-generation 2016-2020 models experienced some turbocharger issues between 90,000 and 130,000 km; the second generation (2021+) addressed those weak points with a revised mechanical architecture. The current generation's nine-speed automatic is robust when transmission fluid is changed every 60,000 km. Rigorous maintenance — including shortened oil change intervals in winter — remains the best long-term reliability strategy.
