What is the real difference between the Mazda3 sedan and the Mazda3 Sport hatchback?
The sedan measures 4,662 mm with a traditional 444-litre trunk and is quieter at highway speeds thanks to better body sealing. The Sport hatchback, at 4,459 mm, trades 50 mm of wheelbase for greater practicality — a power liftgate and 295 litres of cargo space behind the rear seats, expandable to 1,056 litres with the seats folded. Mechanically, both are identical on front-wheel-drive trims; i-Activ AWD is available on both body styles starting from the GS trim. For an urban driver who hauls gear, the hatch wins. For long inter-provincial drives, the sedan is the more relaxing choice.
