The 2026 RAM 1500 continues with its coil-spring rear suspension — the only full-size half-ton pickup in Canada to use this layout — delivering a measurably smoother empty-truck ride than competitors using leaf springs. Powertrains include the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 at 305 horsepower, the 5.7-litre HEMI V8 at 395 horsepower with eTorque mild hybrid, and the 3.0-litre Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six at 420 horsepower (standard) or 540 horsepower (High Output). The eTorque system recovers energy under deceleration and provides up to 90 lb-ft of electric torque assist at low speeds — reducing transmission hunting in urban stop-and-go traffic.
