The 2025 TLX is Acura's sport luxury sedan, offered in Canada in two powertrains: the turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder at 272 horsepower with SH-AWD all-wheel drive as standard, and the TLX Type S powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 at 355 horsepower. Both pair with a ten-speed automatic. The SH-AWD system vectorises torque across the rear axle independently — a technology specific to Acura that provides a more dynamic cornering response than conventional torque-splitting systems. Double-wishbone suspension at all four corners forms the dynamic foundation without compromising highway comfort. The cabin offers an optional 16.1-inch ELS Studio 3D touchscreen and Acura Watch Plus driver assistance suite. The Type S covers 0–100 km/h in 4.4 seconds. Against the BMW 5 Series and Audi A6, the TLX presents a more complete standard equipment list at a more competitive Canadian price point. The Type S remains a performance value in the segment. On high-mileage Type S examples, inspect the oil pump and head gaskets, as these have shown early wear on sustained track-use examples.
