The M3 Competition with M xDrive continues as the performance variant; its S58 twin-turbo 3.0L inline-six producing 503 hp is not for casual buyers but represents one of the most capable sport sedans sold in Canada at any price. A known issue on the B48 at high mileage (above 120,000 km) is timing chain tensioner wear; buyers of used 2022 examples should inspect for chain-rattle on cold start. BMW's 4-year/80,000 km warranty is shorter than Asian competitors.
