The 2024 X2 is a full redesign on the UKL3 platform, sharing architecture with the second-generation X1. It grows in wheelbase and overall length versus the F39, adds a standard 10.7-inch Curved Display with iDrive 8.5, and retains the coupe-SUV roofline that defines the nameplate. The xDrive28i uses the updated B48 2.0T producing 241 hp; the M35i xDrive gains the M Performance variant producing 312 hp. An all-electric iX2 variant with dual motors and a 66.5 kWh battery producing 313 hp and approximately 449 km of range is available alongside the combustion lineup — the first time the X2 nameplate spans both ICE and BEV. The iX2 xDrive30 supports 130 kW DC fast charging and 11 kW AC Level 2. BMW's Driving Assistant Professional is now standard on all 2024 Canadian X2 trims. Rear headroom improves with the longer roofline, addressing a criticism of the outgoing F39 generation. The X2 is assembled in Regensburg, Germany.
