The 2026 4Runner marks the first year of the sixth-generation model on an updated TNGA-F body-on-frame platform. The new 2.4-litre turbocharged four-cylinder replaces the 4.0-litre V6, producing 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque through an eight-speed automatic. A 2.4-litre turbocharged hybrid variant delivers 326 combined horsepower. All Canadian 4Runner trims retain a body-on-frame ladder chassis, solid rear axle on TRD Pro, and a low-range transfer case — the mechanical basis for its off-road reputation. The Trailhunter variant adds a factory ARB roof tent mount and Old Man Emu suspension. Standard Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 includes pre-collision with daytime cyclist and pedestrian detection. The 14-inch infotainment with wireless CarPlay is standard from SR5. Ground clearance is 253 mm on TRD Off-Road.
