The Mercedes GLE offers standard air suspension on more trims and an optional third row for seven passengers. If family versatility is the priority — ski equipment transport, boat towing, long highway runs — the GLE with the seven-seat package is difficult to match. For drivers who prioritise road feel and driving engagement, the X5 remains the segment benchmark.
