Ford introduced a more aggressive battery pre-conditioning system on the 2025 Lightning that activates automatically via the FordPass app whenever a DC fast-charging session is scheduled. In Canadian practice, this reduces the cold-weather charging penalty (-20°C to -30°C) by roughly 15 to 20 percent compared to the 2024. The battery thermal management module has also been improved to maintain optimal temperatures longer during outdoor parking.
