Does the 2026 Tundra address the empty-bed vibrations criticized on 2022–2025 models?
Toyota recalibrated the 2026 Tundra's coil spring rear suspension to soften empty-bed bouncing — the primary owner complaint since the third-generation launch in 2022. The rear springs receive a new progressive (bilinear) rate offering a soft initial zone when empty and increased resistance under load. Rear dampers are replaced with recalibrated units featuring a revised rebound valve. In preliminary tests, empty-bed vibrations are reduced by approximately 40% compared to 2025 — the 2026 Tundra approaches the smooth-empty-bed behavior of the GM Sierra/Silverado on smooth pavement, while maintaining its 948 kg payload capacity.
