The 2026 Hyundai Santa Fe enters its fifth generation with a boxy, more rugged exterior design and an available PHEV powertrain for the first time in the Canadian market — a 1.6L turbocharged engine paired with a 13.8-kWh battery providing approximately 51 km of electric range and qualifying for the federal iZEV incentive. The standard powertrain is a 2.5L naturally aspirated four-cylinder with 191 hp; the XRT and Calligraphy trims use the 2.5T turbocharged unit with 277 hp. For 2026, Hyundai standardised Highway Driving Assist 2 across all Canadian Santa Fe trims, and the new 12.3-inch infotainment with Google Built-In is standard on Preferred and above. The fifth-generation's more upright roofline provides improved rear headroom, benefiting taller passengers. Cargo capacity with rear seats folded grew 8 percent over the outgoing generation. All trims offer AWD. The Calligraphy trim's Nappa leather and 12-speaker Bose audio make it competitive with the Mazda CX-5 Signature at a lower price.
