What is new on the fifth-generation 2022 Range Rover compared to its predecessor?
The 2022 Range Rover is a full generation change, introducing the MLA (Modular Longitudinal Architecture) platform that is up to 50 percent more rigid than the outgoing chassis and is designed to underpin a future fully electric variant. The exterior design becomes cleaner and more continuous, with a flush hood, hidden air intakes, and a full-width light signature front and rear. Inside, physical controls are nearly eliminated in favour of the curved 13.1-inch Pivi Pro central touchscreen, optional 13.1-inch passenger display, and 13.7-inch digital driver display. The rear doors open to a full 90 degrees for easier boarding. The five-height adaptive air suspension is standard on all configurations. The optional Executive Class seating converts the rear into a private lounge with four individual seats, leather-and-wood fold-down picnic tables, rear occupant entertainment, and individual rear massaging seats. The overall refinement step — acoustic insulation, suspension compliance, and cabin materials — was significant enough that contemporary reviews positioned the 2022 Range Rover as the benchmark against which all other luxury SUVs were judged, including the Bentley Bentayga.
