Is the 2023 Mazda CX-9 still in production and what are its key specifications in Canada?
The 2023 Mazda CX-9 is the final model year before its gradual replacement by the Mazda CX-90. In Canada, the CX-9 2023 is offered in GS (approximately $43,600), GS-L (approximately $47,400), Signature (approximately $56,700) and Kuro Edition (approximately $48,500) trims. It is powered by the Skyactiv-G 2.5L Turbo producing 227 hp (310 lb-ft) on regular fuel, or 250 hp on 93-octane premium. A 6-speed automatic transmission and i-Activ AWD are standard on all Canadian trims. The CX-9 seats seven passengers across three rows — the third row is suited for children and teenagers rather than adults on long journeys. Cargo volume behind the third row is 217 litres, expanding to 810 litres with the third row folded and to 2,026 litres with all rows down. Its driving dynamics remain among the most engaging of any three-row SUV available in Canada.
