Kia updated the K5 for 2023 with a revised front fascia featuring a broader grille and updated headlamp design, and expanded standard safety content — Blind Spot Collision Avoidance Assist and Rear Cross Traffic Collision Avoidance Assist become standard from LX. The 1.6T and 2.5T powertrains are unchanged. A new 12.3-inch infotainment display replaces the prior 10.25-inch unit on EX and above, running Kia's updated UX5 interface. The GT model with 2.5T AWD and DCT continues as the performance variant; in Canadian performance sedan comparisons, the GT's AWD traction advantage on wet or winter surfaces compared to FWD competitors is a meaningful differentiator. Real-world testing by Canadian automotive publications placed the GT's zero-to-100 km/h at approximately 5.3 seconds — strong for a family sedan and competitive with the Accord Sport 2.0T and VW Passat GT.
